Temporary Instructional Permit or Receipt with other country drivers license
Valid Vehicle Registration (must bring proof)
Valid Proof of Insurance (must bring proof)
The vehicle must have a rear seat for the parent to use during the road portion of the test. The vehicle must be in very good working condition. Items that will be inspected by the examiner are all lights, wipers, windshield washer fluid, mirrors, horn, seat belts, tires and lug nuts, speedometer, high mounted brake light, brakes, exhaust system, and windshield (cracks or damage). If the vehicle fails one of these areas, it will not be acceptable for the road test. Pages 10-11.
The road test will last about one hour and has two parts. The first part will be in a parking lot and the student will perform three maneuvers. They are outlined in detail on pages 13 through 15 in the study guide. The student must pass this portion before doing the on-road part. The road portion is approximately twelve (12) miles and will last about thirty (30) minutes. The parent rides along during this part and will be asked to be a silent observer. I will give directions and score as we travel along. Our conversation will be kept to a minimum and I will not offer coaching tips. It is very important that the student drive safely and obeys all traffic laws. There are items that will result in an automatic failure and they are outlined on pages 10 through 11.
The test site is where we will start and finish the test site. The test site is located across from 794 State Street, Kingsford MI (see picture below).
In the event of questionable weather call me at (906) 396-7756, at least one hour prior to the test.
If the student successfully passes both parts of the test, they will be issued a Road Test Receipt. The road test examiner will enter the road test results with the Secretary of State.
